Hello! My name is Susan Black and my students know me as Mrs. Susie. I have been a teacher for over thirty years--all of them in Montessori classrooms. I love working with the students, staff, and families here at Okemos Public Montessori at Central. I received my AMS Montessori certification through MMTTC in Chicago. I also have NAMTC Montessori training. I began teaching here in Okemos with the beginning of our program and have proudly watched it grow and bloom.
My husband Larry and I enjoy travel, dreaming of new adventures, and just spending time together. You may see our standard poodle Frankie in carline or outside the building on weekends. Frankie believes her job is to look after our classroom--the Paper Birch Room. She gets really excited every time we arrive at school. Our big, orange cat Otis is too busy guarding our home to visit Central!
