Kindergarten
Join the Pack: Your Kindergarten Journey Begins
Starting kindergarten is an exciting milestone, and at Okemos Public Schools, we’re honored to be part of that journey with your family. From the very first day, our focus is on creating a welcoming, supportive environment where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to grow. Guided by our mission of educating with excellence and empowering every learner for life, our kindergarten program helps students build strong foundations academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, with families as partners, we are committed to ensuring every learner, every day, continues to grow stronger—together.
Children must be 5 years old by September 1, 2026, or have submitted a completed waiver to attend.
There are no additional eligibility requirements for our three traditional district-wide full-day Kindergarten programs at Bennett Woods, Cornell, and Hiawatha Elementary Schools. If you are interested in Kindergarten Enrollment at Okemos Public Montessori, please see the website for information.
