P.A.W.S. (Pep and Wolf Squad) builds school spirit, pride, and identity by promoting events, encouraging participation, and uniting students, staff, alumni and the community as one Wolf Pack.
Okemos High School students in grades 10-12 audition and train to serve as our mascot performers, representing our district with energy and professionalism.
P.A.W.S. is supported by funds raised by the annual 5K Wolf Run & Walk, which allows us to maintain the mascot costume, provide spirit giveaways during appearances, and invest in elements that elevate school events across the district.
Have an idea for how the mascot could support your group or event? P.A.W.S. is always exploring new opportunities to connect across the district. Email us at mascot@okemosk12.net.
Help us support P.A.W.S. and register for our 3rd Annual Wolf Run & Walk on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at OHS Stadium!
Join us for the 5K, the Roll and Stroll, Stadium Races for the kids, and last year's favorite, the Mile Run!
Don't feel like walking? We will also have entertainment from OHS Cheer, OHS Dance Team, and the Okemos Woof Pack.
Additionally, the Okemos Wolf will be inviting his mascot friends again this year. Stay tuned for the mascot guest list and see if the Okemos Wolf can beat last year's champion, ZZ from Zap Zone!
In it's inaugural year, the Okemos' Biggest Fan Tour, presented by P.A.W.S. (Pep and Wolf Squad), brought school spirit and appreciation to every corner of the district. On Wedensday, May 6, our student P.A.W.S. team traveled alongside Okie throughout the district, surprising deserving staff members with recognition for the positive impact they make each day.
At each stop, we rolled out the red carpet, played music, and gave each recipient a mini pep assembly to thank recipients for their contributions to the spirit and culture of Okemos Public Schools. Through cheers, smiles and heartfelt gratitude, this new tradition celebrates the people who help make Okemos an exceptional place to learn, work, and grow.
