CADL's Student Success Initiative

Posted by Cyndi Webster on 2/12/2021

We are so excited to announce a collaboration between Okemos Public School 5-12 Libraries and the Capital Area District Libraries (CADL). It is called the CADL’s Student Success Initiative (SSI) which allows all our 5-12 grade students, regardless of where they live, to receive an SSI virtual public library card.

With this card students and staff have access to CADL’s online resources. Two examples of what your student now can utilize are the new Tutor.com resource (watch the informative video on how easy it is to get free online tutoring) and Download & Streaming services (providing online access to recent movies, digital audio and e-books, etc.).  This is a fabulous expansion of our resources in these days of distance learning.

The card also allows students to log into MeL databases and check out up to 3 physical items at a time with no fines for overdue books.  Please review the CADL page linked above to see all the services available with this card.

  • To login go to CADL
  • Enter your last name.
  • To log in, students simply add oke or OKE and then their district login: lastnamefirstinitialyearofgraduation. Example: okefieldss26
  • First time users will be asked to create a unique password for their account

Enjoy this new service. Please contact Cyndi Webster (5-8) for any support you might need.
