New Student Advanced Math Placement Options: Kinawa/Chippewa

The Okemos Public Schools offers advanced math testing opportunities to our new middle school students prior to the start of the school year.  The purpose of the placement test is to determine if your student is eligible to be placed in an accelerated mathematics course. Placement tests will be administered for eligible 5th-8th grade students in August.

Monday. August 10, 2026 –Student Test Session (Registration Deadline: August 6th)

Tuesday, August 11, 2026 – Student Make-up Test Session (Registration Deadline: August 6th)

Thursday, September 3, 2026 – Student Test Session is during the day (Registration Deadline: September 1st)

This session is for students who are unable to test before the start of the school year. Your student will be placed in the grade-level math course pending assessment results. Depending on the test results, a placement in an accelerated course may affect your student’s schedule.

Testing at either of the earlier time slots is recommended and preferred to assist in scheduling your student.
