The online registration is the first step in our district enrollment. In preparation for the next step, we will be asking you to provide us with the following:
KINDERGARTEN INFORMATION & REGISTRATION
Due to our school closure, we are providing electronic presentations about our Kindergarten and Begindergarten programs. After watching, please follow the information below to enroll at Hiawatha.
If you have a kindergartener starting school in the fall, (child should be 5 years old by September 1, 2021) you may now register. (Registration Link) As noted above, the office will be in contact to let you know the next steps in the enrollment process.
The Okemos Public Schools Begindergarten program is designed for young 5 year olds and prepares students for Kindergarten. For more information or to apply during the application window from April 13th at 8:00 am until April 22nd at 8:00 am, click here.

Hiawatha Elementary school has a highly educated and professional staff that is committed to working with students to achieve high academic expectations. The State Department of Education ranked Hiawatha at the 95th percentile, as one of the top rated schools in mid-Michigan. Our highly qualified staff provides a supportive and differentiated curriculum to meet the varying academic needs of our students. Hiawatha staff believes in meeting the needs of the whole child. This includes providing high quality, academic instruction along with establishing and maintaining a caring and nurturing environment. Support staff work closely with teachers to ensure that the goals of the school are met and the needs of students are addressed.
Parents in our community play an integral part in the educational climate of our school. They willingly volunteer at school functions and with classroom needs. Together parents and staff advocate for the child to achieve their full potential.
