  • This is my eleventh year teaching at Okemos Public Montessori. I have a bachelor’s degree in special education with an emphasis in learning disabilities. Additionally, I have a master’s degree in literacy instruction with a reading specialist endorsement. My degrees are both from Michigan State University. I am passionate about finding interventions and strategies that will assist your child in being successful in his or her classroom.

I work very diligently with your child’s teacher to ensure that the skills we practice in the resource room are tailored to pre-teach, re-teach, or practice the skills that are being covered in the classroom. In the resource room, your child will work on important skills and concepts that correlate to the work in his or her classroom. I realize that your child’s learning time is invaluable. Therefore, the activities we participate in are small group, visual, engaging, and full of explicit instruction. Additionally, I work to empower your learner to advocate for his or her learning needs in the classroom!

Outside of school, I enjoy cheering on the Spartans with my family at the Michigan State football games. We have had the same seats since I was in the fifth grade! My husband and I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, and keeping up with friends.
