Who We Are
The Okemos Channel is a service of the Okemos Public Schools. What started as a local educational access cable television channel serving only the Okemos community is now a global service that provides live streaming of many events, as well as an online archive of programming. The Okemos Channel is operated by one full-time employee and by high school students curious about video production.
Because of the convenience and global reach of our online services, we no longer maintain the original local cable television channel.
To Watch The Okemos Channel Live and Online
We maintain two sites where our online programming can be found. okemoschannel.live will take you to our YouTube channel, where you can search for mostly fine-arts programming from the last few years. Many fine arts programs are also streamed live over our YouTube channel. Any time we are live-streaming an event (other than Board of Education meetings or other Zoom events), that same address of okemoschannel.live will automatically connect you to our live feed,
In addition, The Okemos Channel On Demand is an archive of mostly older fine arts shows, as well as recordings of Board of Education meetings and other administrative programming.
To Watch Board of Education Meetings Live
Okemos Board of Education meetings are typically scheduled for the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7pm. The meetings are presented live via Zoom at THIS LINK. Board meetings make their way to the On Demand site within a couple of days of the live event.
